| Mission |
|
"The mission of Circle of Love is to serve
Amma and the region through acts of selfless service, spreading
love and compassion, and facilitating connection and well-being
within Amma's community of devotees and their families.
The Circle of Love will provide and coordinate short-term
services to those who need practical assistance, emotional
support and prayers. Examples of these services include letter
writing, phone calls, rides, house cleaning, shopping and
errands, meals, mentoring, walking animals, pujas, prayers
and/or a prayer circle. Services will be coordinated and provided
on a case by case basis.
Providing Services:
To participate in The Circle of Love as a volunteer you may
give one of the coordinators your name and number and an idea
of what type of sevas you would be able to participate in.
By providing your name you have consented to be called when
there is a need and have agreed to consider each request,
but you have not obligated yourself to any particular service.
Please consider each request carefully but remember to take
care of yourself, too. In addition, we may call even if you
have not given your name. This may happen in circumstances
where we sense a possibility. Again please consider our request.
Receiving Services:
To receive a service from the Circle of Love, you need only
call one of the coordinators and request it. Through discussion
with you and with your permission, a coordinator will make
suggestions and a plan to serve you. If you wish to refer
another who you feel might benefit from the Circle of Love,
you must ask permission of that person before contacting the
Circle of Love. When permission has been granted the coordinators
will be glad to take your referral.
Coordinators are:
Rebecca - 505-466-8208
Anne - 505-466-3163
Latha - 505-954-4577
all in the Santa Fe area and parts north
Sharon O. - 505-281-0217
Sharon C. - 505-281-6232
Both in the East Mountains and Albuquerque areas

Circle of Prayers
|
|
"The mission of the Circle of Prayer is to serve Amma
and our spiritual community through prayer. The Circle of Prayer provides opportunities to request prayers for our loved ones and ourselves and gives us the opportunity to pray for the healing of our brothers and sisters in need.
We offer our prayers in faith that they will facilitate love, compassion, connection and well being throughout our community and the world."
To request prayers for yourself or your loved ones please send
your name or names to ammacenterprayers@yahoo.com.
If you wish, you may include a short explanation but this
is not necessary. These prayer requests will be read at the
Santa Fe Satsang each Saturday night (only the name will be
read) and will be included in a weekly email (a short explanation
can be included here) sent to all those participating in the
online Circle of Prayer. Your request will remain active for
one week, and then must be resubmitted.
If you are unable to send us an email, you may submit your request directly before satsang by placing it in the small, red, heart-shaped box on the temple altar. These names will be read during satsang on Saturday night as well as being sent out to the Online Circle of Prayer in the next week's email. Each prayer request will then be saved in a beautiful receptacle under the altar, until they are buried with the old photos of Amma.
If you would enjoy praying for others, please send your email
address to ammacenterprayers@yahoo.com,
along with your desire to be an active member of the Online
Circle of Prayer. Both individuals and local satsangs are
welcome to participate in this way. Weekly you will automatically
receive a list of names of people to prayer for. You may be
removed from the email list at any time by sending an email
request to ammacenterprayers@yahoo.com.

Puja's at your Home
|
|
According to Hindu tradition, performing puja at any place
or time is very auspicious. Our body is the temple of God
and home is the sanctuary where we go to rest, sleep, cook,
share our feelings with the family members (and those who
live with the family) and plan all our daily routines, etc.
So, home is our material temple. Here, you are priest as well
as worshipper.
Pujas can be done at home by yourself, with family members
or in the company of friends and relatives. Occaisions include
birthdays, new beginnings, holy days etc. Chanting the Lord’s
name has a profound impact on those gathered and on the atmosphere,
purifying both the individual souls and the home. Those who
have conducted pujas in their homes have experienced such
benefits as peace of mind, material prosperity, improved family
relations and spiritual upliftment.
As exercises keep our bodies healthy and free from disease,
as yoga keeps the flow of our vital energy in good condition,
puja is a ritual performed to keep us in harmony with the
cosmic forces, thereby removing and overcoming sorrows of
life and bringing spiritual advancement.
Pujas don’t have to be elaborate or expensive. Everybody
does it according to one’s ability. It is the attitude, sincerity
and devotion that is important.
If you would like to more information or help with planning
a puja in your home, please call Latha and Chandra at 505-954-4577.

Rituals will help foster
good habits, and there will be order in life.
Every ritual was created as an aid to maintain an unbroken
remembrance of
God." Amma
